Are you interested in gentle or respectful caregiving but struggling to implement it successfully in your home?
Wanting to better understand how to stay calm in the face of toddler or preschooler meltdowns?
Wondering whether positive discipline can really be effective?
Feeling anxious about figuring out what’s ‘normal?’
What really impressed us about Rachel was her soft, but direct nature. Her deep background in early childhood development and her strong ability to understand and communicate with children and parents are gifts.

How I Work
With 20 years of experience supporting families and a deep history of study in child development, I help parents translate children’s behaviors into understandable needs and experiences.
I synthesize the latest research relevant to respectful, responsive caregiving and give parents the tools and insight needed to bring more peace and connection into the home.
Together, we come up with a solution-oriented plan for creating healthy rhythms, routines, and rituals in your family life that support your bond with your child and help you tune in to the best version of yourself as a parent or caregiver.
I work with families with children birth to five and have a special background with children who are highly sensitive or spirited, as well as with parents who are highly sensitive and/or are navigating mental health challenges themselves.
My work is brain and nervous system-informed, meaning I will weave into our work that ways in which children’s bodies and minds respond to what’s happening around them.
How the Work Flows
- Assessing child temperament and nervous system needs
- Looking at family dynamics through home or video observation and discussion
- Setting measurable goals together based on what you’d like to achieve
- Framing what’s happening with your child through a developmental, brain- and body-based lens
- Walking away from each session with specific strategies for addressing the issue and a deeper understanding of its root causes

If you’re not sure where to start, take advantage of my free 30 minute consultation.
Personalized consultation is relational work, and it takes me some time to get to know your child and family. I suggest working together for at least a handful of weeks.
I offer several packages at a discounted rate below.
Single (initial) 90 minute sessions are $110*.
Follow-up sessions are $100* for 60 minutes.
*I am committed to equity in my pricing. Write to contact@rachelhinds.com for sliding scale information. Deep discounts available for BIPOC parents and educators as a small step toward reparations.
